I lit a candle on my cake,

Whispered soft, “You made it, hey,”

Another year, another fight,

Another scar that turned to light.

I’ve stumbled through the darkest hours,

Cried in rain and danced in showers,

Every fall has shaped my soul,

And somehow I’m still whole.

I didn’t know I’d make it here,

Through every scream, through every cheer,

But here I stand, I’m breathing still,

With dreams to chase, with time to heal.

So here’s to me, at 28,

To every storm I had to face.

To every laugh, to every tear,

Each one brought me right back here.

I thank the nights, I thank the pain,

For showing me that I can stay—

Stay strong, stay kind, stay free…

And thank you, me.

I’ve learned to break and still believe,

To hold on tight when I can’t breathe.

There’s beauty in the cracks I’ve earned,

In every lesson that has burned.

To all the love I’ve been shown,

I owe you more than words can say—

You helped me find my way.

Some days were cruel, some days were grace,

But I kept showing up in place.

The mirror holds a quiet friend,

Who's learning how her heart can mend.
